Why are we holding a reunion?

When Emu Creek was sold after the Lennard marriage break up, the Park changed direction as the new owner, Blair Maxwell, was more interested in motor cycles than 4WDs. At about the same time, a lot of the regulars from Emu Creek got involved in various types of Competitions, both organising and competing, at places away from Emu Creek.....

About a year ago, Errol Williams and I took a couple of mates for a social drive at Emu Creek. It felt like we'd come home.

Since then, Blair has spent a lot of money to overcome the effects of erosion & neglect that have occured over the years. He has started the process of openning up areas of the Park that have never been available previously.

The risk is, however, that if 4WDers don't use the huge area of the Park set aside for them, it may well become a 100% Motor Cycle Park.......

Now, we don't want that, do we?

The 4x4 Battle of the States Reunions are an attempt to ensure 4WDers take advantage of the improvements at the Park, and learn (or relearn) what Emu Creek has to offer. Errol & myself are happy to make ourselves, with the help of some mates, available to show you around the Park, or you can explore by yourself, whatever makes YOU happy.........

Hope we'll see you at Emu Creek.
JUNE LONG WEEKEND........

Over the last couple of weekends Errol and I, along with some friends have openned a creek run that may end up as a night run over the weekend.

Should get your attention. ;)
Some changes...........

This was such a good idea, we're going to do it twice.........

Well, not exactly. Dave Metcalfe is running a Winch Challenge in Rocky,
Tuff Tracks is on at LCMP, and our mates at Coffs are organising their
normally sensational get together over the June long weekend, so after
much soul searching, Errol, Blair and myself have decided that the 6th
& 7th September, 2008 may be a better date to relive the old days
of Emu Creek.

This does not mean that nothing is happening over the Long Weekend in
June. Errol & I will be there and taking as many tag a longs as
people want (both Day & Night!). We expect to have around ten local
vehicles there in June to explore some of the tracks that Errol, some
of our mates, and I have opened or reopened over the last few months.

Come September we will have some of the old competition courses open
for fun, not for official competition, lots of tag a longs including an
incredible night creek run, huge communal camp fire, and plenty of the
social involvement that Emu Creek was famous for.

It seems a common comment these days that a lot of us forgot about the
social, fun aspect of 4WDing when we got involved in
competition.......so these weekends will let you rediscover those early
days.....

Some of you were there in the old days........but you ALL would have enjoyed the wheeling & camaraderie.......

BTW, despite the rumours, EMU CREEK welcomes 4WDers all year round.
So whats happening next June.......

Over the Queens Birthday weekend 2008, the REUNION is on at Emu Creek.

Competition? Not in 2008. We have started the lengthy process to licence Emu Creek for legal competition use. The old hillclimbs & a mudrun will be open for people to have a play.

Tag a longs? Errol and I have started to reopen a few of the old runs and plenty of trips will be available.

Catering will be available, including a spit roast on Saturday night, prior to a legendary Emu Creek NIGHT RUN.

The Park is closed to Motor Cycles for this weekend.
October long weekend - sept 29. 30 & Oct 1 2007.

Errol & I and a few friends are planning a weekend at Emu Creek and we hope you will join us. We are planning a bit of organising of tracks and tag-a-longs for next June, but will guarantee a weekend of reasonable serious 4WDing...

Errols rebuilt GQ is really working, and he plans to examine its new capabilities. The old Jeep will just be doing its best to keep up.

Why don't you join us?
